Shape Up! is the fifth episode of the second season.

Summary

Radar thinks techy gadgets are the best way to move around and get things done, but he learns that physical activity is essential to a healthy, happy lifestyle.

Plot

At the Astroblast Space Station, the Astroblast Crew is in the exercise room, exercising, but Radar is playing a video game. Comet asks Radar to join them, but Radar decides not to. He says that it looks like a lot of work and he's tired. Halley tells Radar that exercise gives you lots of energy and Sputnik says that it makes you sleep great, too. Suddenly, an alarm sounds. Comet says that they have to set up the cafe, but they see fireworks through the skylight. Comet wonders what it is, and Halley suggests they check it out. Radar tells them to go ahead and says that he's right behind them. However, he's so tired, he can't even get up, so he takes a zoom tube instead.

When they arrive at the cafe, they notice someone very athletic, running around the cafe. He introduces himself as Znerd, an athlete, teacher and the creator of ExerSweat. Comet introduces the crew, and Znerd says that he loves to exercise, and Radar says that he thinks they get it. Znerd says that he wants to share his love of exercise with the entire universe, so he's going to make an exercise video: "The Power of Znerd; Mission: ExerSweat" and he wants to film it in the space station. Znerd asks them if they want to be in the video, and they get very excited. When everyone calms down, Comet says that he thinks that might be alright. Znerd says that the video has ExerSweat missions. Sputnik asks if he means exercise and sweat, and Znerd affirms. He explains that the ExerSweat missions are exercises that he needs them to practice first so they don't tire out on him while he's filming, as a little bit of exercise a day gives you lots of energy to play! Radar asks if all they have to do is complete all his missions and they get to be in the mission, and Znerd says that is correct. Znerd says that he's going to stay in the cafe and get things ready for the video, like his Exersuit. He asks them if they have a rock wall, and they say yes. Radar says yes, and Znerd tells them to head on over to it and get started. Radar runs off, and Halley thinks they finally found a way to get Radar moving out of his room and Comet suggests they hurry before he changes his mind.

In the exercise room, Znerd tells them for their first mission, they need to climb to the top of the rock wall because it's all over his video. He asks them if they're ready, and they say yes. He tells them to go for it and walks off to get his hair done. As they get started, Radar climbs the rock wall very fast. Everyone is amazed by it, and Radar says that the sticky gloves he's wearing are awesome. The others lose their smiles, and Radar says that all Znerd said was to climb the wall, which he did, quicker and easier than them. Sputnik says that she doesn't think that's what he meant. Radar climbs back up the wall, and notices Sal swinging from a rope. Sal tells Radar that it's impressive that Radar's climbing the wall, and Radar tells him that he can do even better with sticky gloves. Sal says that it is clever, but quotes his GamGam: "Even the world's fastest fish needs to do laps every few days." Sal explains to Radar that he has to actually do the exercise to get the energy he needs to have fun and play. Radar doesn't seem to care.

Sputnik tells Znerd that they're at the running track. Znerd asks them how the climbing wall went, and Radar says that it went great and that it was easy. Znerd tells them for Mission #2, they need to do 2 laps around the track, and goes off to have a snack of walnuts. Radar puts on a jetpack, which surprises everyone. Comet tells his emotionally unstable friend that these missions are the exercises that they'll have to do in the exercise video and that it's fun to move. Radar asks what the point of all that running around is and says that he's tired. Sputnik tells him that exercise makes you stronger, and Radar asks why he needs to have energy if he has machines that do everything for him, which appalls Halley. Radar says that they can exercise if they want, or they could use a jetpack. Comet says that's not the point, and Radar tells them to stop talking and start lapping. Sputnik says that she doesn't think Znerd's going to like it. They run on the track, but Radar activates his jetpack and flie past them rapidly. Suddenly, the jetpack malfunctions and he starts going several laps around the track.

Znerd checks on them and asks them if they did their laps. Radar, tired out, says that he did 23 laps. Znerd is impressed. Znerd introduces Mission #3, the last mission, and tells them to head on over to the jungle gym.

For Mission #3, Znerd tells them to jump up and grab one of the monkey bars. Jet, Sputnik, Halley and Comet do it with ease. Comet and Halley try to convince him to try it without gadgets, but Radar puts on rocket boots that send him flying insanely high. Sal is fixing a satellite, and Radar lands in a spaceship. He tells the driver to let him out, and he does so. He falls back into the Astroblast Space Station and holds the monkey bars, saying that it's so much easier. Znerd asks them if they completed Mission #3, and they say yeah. Znerd is impressed and says that tomorrow morning, bright and early, they'll start filming. Radar says that he can't wait to show Znerd all of his shortcuts, as they make exercising so much easier and thinks he's going to like them. Halley tells task-oriented friend that he wasn't really exercising.

The next morning, they arrive at the Frosty Star and Radar asks them what took them so long, saying that he and Znerd have been waiting. Znerd is ready to start this thing, and he tells them to line up, and says that the first stop is the rock wall. He notices Radar putting on sticky gloves and asks him what he's doing. Radar says that he's just putting on his sticky gloves and a jetpack. Znerd tells him that he can't use that stuff, and Radar says that he can, as he did before and it makes exercising a lot easier. Znerd tells Radar that using gadgets means he wasn't actually exercising! The gadgets were doing all the work for him! Radar tries to respond, but Znerd tells him that if he's not actually exercising, He Can't Be in the video, as he won't have enough energy! Radar starts getting worried and speechlessly stutters. Znerd tells Radar to put down the gadgets if he wants to be in the video. Radar looks at his friends, which nod agreeingly. Radar decides to put the gadgets away, which gets Znerd happy again. Znerd turns the camera on and films the video.

Mission #1: Jet, Comet, Sputnik and Halley successfully climb the rock ladder, but Radar can't get to the top.

Mission #2: They run two laps around the track, but Radar has a hard time keeping up. He wants to use one little jetpack, but Znerd says no and tells Radar that he has to use his own feet. Radar becomes depressed and Znerd tells him that he can do it. Radar asks if he's almost at the finish line, and Sputnik says no. It's revealed that Radar is actually close to it. Radar winds up walking instead. He says that they have one more lap to do before it's off to the jungle gym.

That's all Radar has to hear. With the little energy he has, he finally snaps. He says that he can't do it as he doesn't have the energy and asks everyone else how they can do it and he can't. Suddenly, it hits him! Radar realizes that if he'd been exercising, he'd be able to do all of the missions too. They tell him that he'd have the energy, the strength and the pep to be in the video. Radar says that he doesn't have those things, so he can't. Znerd apologizes and says that it's up to Radar to exercise, and he knows he can. Radar says that he's got it now and that he knows exactly what he can do.

Later, Radar is using the video to do jumping jacks. Comet says that the video came out really great and asks Radar what he thinks. Radar says that it's awesome and a lot of fun. He tells them that Znerd said that if he exercises and gets ready, he can be i his next video! Everyone gets happy and joins Radar in doing jumping jacks.
