Oh, Brother... is the fourth episode of the first season.
Summary
Comet's older brother Flash stops by--and shakes up the snack shack by forcing everyone to do their jobs faster. Comet questions his skills as a leader before standing up for himself and taking back control of the ship.
Plot
Comet is getting the Astroblast Space Station ready for the arrival of his older brother, Flash, and Halley asks when he's coming. Comet says that he can't wait for his friends to meet him. Halley says that she's gonna take Flash on a ride on her starscreamer surfboard. Sputnik says that she and Jet will show him everything in the garage, and Radar says that he's going to make him the best smoothie he's had in his life. Flash arrives and introduces himself to Sputnik, Radar, Jet, and Halley. Flash asks how much Comet told them about him, and they tell him that Comet told them that he thinks, talks and moves fast. Flash adds, "Like a flash!" Flash can't believe that Comet is captain of a space station, and says that when he was a puppy he couldn't even keep his room clean. Comet says that things are different now. Comet's about to show Flash around, and Flash decides to race him. Comet slips and crashes into boxes. Flash says, "Same old Comet."
Comet shows Flash the Frosty Star, and tells him that this is where the magic happens. Flash is flattered by this, and notices Halley's starscreamer surfboards, which she uses to deliver smoothies to customers all over the galaxy and gives some of her visitors rides in her spare time. At that moment, Halley arrives on one of her surfboards, with a Pingo-Pongian. Halley asks the Pingo-Pongian if he thought the ride was fun. He shakes his head no. Halley says, "And the next time, you won't be scared, right?" The Pingo-Pongian shakes his head no again, so Halley assumes that he will be scared, but he'll try it again anyway. He nods his head yes, and they do a paw slap and a tail bump. Halley asks Flash if he wants to go for a ride. Flash asks Halley why her ride was so slow, and Halley explains that the little guy was scared to go too fast. Flash says that if he was running the space station, he'd make every surfboard ride super fast, and rides the surfboard at light speed. Comet doesn't agree, but Flash tells him that he's his older brother and he knows things. He says that faster is always better and tells Halley to make every ride super fast from now on. Halley asks Comet for his opinion, but Flash says that Comet also agrees. A purple alien creature wants to go for a ride, and Halley tells them to hop on. The purple alien tells Halley that they've never been on a surfboard before and asks her to go slowly, but Halley goes extremely fast on the surfboard. Flash tells Comet that he told him.
A married couple is ordering a smoothie. The wife asks Radar if the Cosmic Carrot smoothie has carrots in it, and Radar says that it's chock-full of carrots. The husband asks the wife if she likes carrots, and the wife says that she's never had one. As such, Radar decides to get her a sample. The couple thinks that Radar is a nice monkey. Radar comes back and gives her the sample, and she likes it. Comet and Flash arrive, and Flash asks Radar if he always moves at a slow pace. Comet tells Flash that Radar's not moving slowly, he helps customers pick the right smoothie. Flash suggests they decide what they order. Radar tells the couple that they're getting the Cosmic Carrot smoothie. Radar asks Flash if that's how to do it, and Flash says, "Exactly like that." Radar feels empowered, and starts making decisions for the other customers, including telling a Dirtonian to go to the restroom because he has dirt all over his face. Flash asks Comet what else he wants to show him, and Radar continues making decisions for the customers.
In the garage, Sputnik and Jet are working a space pod. Flash notices that the speed dial is set to 7. Sputnik explains that they feel like 7 is a perfect speed. Flash suggests they crank it up, as the speed dial goes to 11. Jet and Sputnik are against this idea, but Flash insists that faster is ALWAYS better. Despite Sputnik's objection, Flash cranks the dial up to 11 and rides the space pod. Flash says that all of the speed dials on all the vehicles need to be turned up to 11. Sputnik asks Comet what he thinks, and Comet assumes that Flash is right. Sputnik and Jet agree, but Sputnik still thinks it's a bad idea.
Comet shows Flash the control room. Flash likes it, and says that he knows exactly what they should change. He thinks that everything should go faster. When Flash notices the Frosty Star sign, Comet assumes it should go faster, and Flash says, "No, FASTER!" Comet tries to tell him that's what he said, but decides not to. Comet winds up agreeing with Flash and thinks that he's been running the space station the wrong way. Flash tells Comet to take a break and let him handle things for a while.
Comet is depressed and thinks he should quit and let his brother take over. A mysterious voice from nowhere asks him if he's sure he wants to do that, and Comet says that he is. It turns out, it's Sal, who was in the vent. Comet asks Sal what he's doing up there, and Sal says that he was looking for Halley's Zoomer Zebra action figure. Sal asks Comet why he wants to quit, and Comet explains that he feels like everybody likes the way Flash likes the ship better than the way Comet does, and Flash told everyone to go faster, so they did. Sal explains that faster isn't always better and that Flash is being kind of bossy. Sal says that he likes the way Comet does things around here, as instead of telling them what to do, he asks them what they think and listens to them, and together, they figure out how to do things. Comet suggests he ask the crew whether they want him or Flash to be the captain. Sal gets back to work, and tells Comet to give the action figure to Halley since he's headed toward the cafe.
In the cafe, Radar is still assigning random smoothies to the customers, and Comet sadly tells the crew that he loves the cafe, as the crew if he wants his brother to be the captain and agrees to quit if they do. Halley and Sputnik tell him to stop talking about quitting and help them. Comet notices that things are running too fast. Flash runs into a pile of boxes, and assumes that things are going too fast. Halley and Sputnik tell Comet to take control. Comet asks if they like the way he runs the cafe. Sputnik and Halley alternate in telling him that the like the way he runs the cafe, as instead of bossing him around, he listens to what they have to say and together, they figure out how to do things. Comet says that he was talking to Sal, and said all of those things verbatim, but Sputnik and Halley tell him to help. Finally, Comet tells everyone to slow down on the count of 3. Once Comet reaches 3, everything slows down. Flash agrees that this might be a better speed and apologizes for the whole super fast thing. Comet says, "That's okay," and tosses Halley her Zoomer Zebra action figure and tells her that Sal found it for her. Halley thanks them. Flash tells Comet that he's really a great leader, but he makes it look easy. Comet thanks Flash, and they hug. Sputnik launches the smoothies of the day: Pineapple Feedle Zing. Comet dedicates it to his big bro, who taught him that sometimes he needs to stick up for himself. Flash dedicates it to his little brother, who taught him that it's okay to slow down every once in a while. Flash finishes him smoothie and speeds out. Comet briefly feels betrayed, before Flash reveals that he was just kidding, and pretends to run slowly. Soon, everyone else follows suit.
